I've had this inpso post saved as a draft for agess. Sometimes I keep posts like this saved as compilations of photos, and then forget to post them. That being said, I've been so inspired by these ulta-sparkly, glam photos recently. I love the faux fur, pearls and silk.

"In his blue gardens men and girls came and went like moths among the whisperings and the champagne and the stars."

I studied Great Gatsby for A-Level like I'm sure some of you did. It was one of my fav novels along with Street Car Named Desire, which I adored studying. The quote above is one of my favourites, it really conjures up an image of glamour and beauty, but also the fickleness of society. I think it's so relevant to the celebrity driven world we live in. I wont get into a full blown analysis, but I thought the quote would pair pretty well with these images.

I'm currently going though the motions and trying to get a job to save up for when my friend and I go away. I'm also desperately trying to decide on uni. I think I want to be based in London but I've heard so many scary things about how expensive it is, and how lonely it can be. How are you supposed to know? Can someone just chose for me. Pls and Thx.

Hope you're all doing well and loving this heatwave. It's making me a bit scared tbh bc its a sneak peak at how bad global warming is gonna get. Anyway enough of the negativity,
lots of love,
lexie

  1. that quote from gatsby is insane, I adore that book and Fitzgeralds writing–also obsessed with Williams and scnd as you know haha. The pics have such an ethereal/party/glam vibe and I totally love it, I am forever composing random posts that never make their way onto my blog or that I find months later haha. Where are you going travelling? exciting! AND about uni, its so stressful choosing and deciding and committing to one place and so many people said to me "you'll know, the place will just feel right" but tbh I found this to be rubbish and I really just made a rational list of pros and cons and thought about the factors that were most important to me when applying. I guess we'll never know what's 'right' or the 'better' alternative. Hope life is good gal xxox

    1. I know Fitzgeralds writing is something else! We're going to do the classic Australasia/ South East Asia route I think, and we'll hopefully go to Japan for a bit too! Omg the uni stress is real aha I can't believe I've never thought of doing a pros/cons list?! Literally sounds like the best thing right now, I've visited about 15 unis and the whole 'it'll feel right' just doesn't work. I like them all but there are just so many factors that come into it! Thanks my love xoxx

  2. As soon as a read that quote I knew it was The Great Gatsby, I've never studied to but I so wish I did as I read it twice and simply adored it! This inspiration is giving me wintery, christmassy glamour vibes for some reason? The only positive about cold weather is getting out the faux fur I suppose! I hope you're decisions aren't too challenging, I say do your research and visit Unis and you'll just get a feel for one place trust me, go with wherever you feel feels right!x

  5. wow those images are so amazing and I think the quote really pairs with them! I loved reading the Great Gatsby and A Streetcar Named Desire back in high school! Did you ever read The Glass Menagerie? It's also by Tennessee Williams and It's probably one of my favorite plays!

  6. Come to London and I'll be your friend!! But in reality, my friends who go to London universities absolutely love it, and things are expensive but there are so many good events and it's such a bustling place with so many unique and cool people- I think you'd love it studying in London x
