thoughts #5: motivation and inspiration

Happy Monday once again! I hope you've all had an amazing week, I cannot believe how fast this week has gone!!

Today I wanted to write a quick post about motivation and my inherent lack of the sort. I've really been struggling to get motivated for the past few weeks and everything seems to be taking me a million years to do. I've been trying to declutter my room, and right now everything is shoved in my wardrobe in piles ready to go. I finally managed to depop some clothes today though.

I frequently find that the moment I get home from college I go straight to my bed and don't end up getting out until dinner, then I climb back to bed after. It's becoming quite a problematic routine and I just cant get out of it. I have so many creative ideas and so much to do, but I just find myself so incapable of acting on it; I'm just so tried all the time.  I also had a really shitty driving lesson today which wasn't great.

Do any of you have any tips for getting out of a rut? I'm being such a crappy blogger/ person atm, I haven't replied to any comments, I haven't instagrammed in nearly a month, I haven't taken any of my own photos in forever (sorry for all the Tumblr pics guys) andd I never comment anymore lol. I literally read everyones posts and forget to comment. I think I need to do some exercise or some'in.

I just wanna get out of this country and travelll gahhh.

  1. yess I feel you on the shitty driving lessons, they ruin your day. Sounds like you're in an annoying rut, maybe try writing lists, breaking it all down into small achievable elements? It sometimes works for me. When I'm at work, I spend all the hours dreaming of all the places I'd rather be, the list is becoming quite extensive and totally unachievable but its good to have a bucket list, am I right?

    1. They doo, glad it's not just me! Think I'll defo try some of those ideas, I feel soo stuck atm. Oh me too, but it's so nice to aspire and dream of things you'll do in the future xxx

  2. Oh my god Lexie I know everyone is different and stuff but oh boy do I feel you! I'm in the exact same rut I do nothing anymore- I don't even wear nice clothes, I can't remember the last time I wore something that wasn't leggings! Also don't worry about the driving lessons, having a bad one used to get to me the entire day but ya gotta break a few eggs to make an omelette! (literally so lame but everytime I used to do something wrong I would just say that to myself in the car). Hope you feel less tired soon Lexie- maybe if you have weekend off begin it with something active to help get a productive Saturday going?x

  4. you should definitely start sharing some of your art work on your blog and speak about them, what they mean etc. And then the comments can be everyone's own interpretation of the piece. I think it'd be really interesting to see! hope everything works out in the end <3

  5. Getting out of ruts is hard... once you get in them you forget how to live life without them. I do the same thing with getting into bed then staying there after school. I find that really forcing yourself to get up and do something is the key. Log into blogger and see if anything happens. Or get into workout clothes and maybe you'll go for a run. I think the key is to just to start.
